Harvest Festival 2011
Harvest Festival 2011
Sunday 9th October 2011
The traditional Harvest Festival Family Service with Holy Communion, which was held on Sunday 9th October, was a huge success with standing room only!
The service, taken by Rev Lindsay Meader involved both parish members as well as young people from the Church school who were there to represent the school in advance of the welcome gift from the Fair Share shop in Berwick Street. In addtion, a choir provided addtional musical support to the full congregation.
The Harvest Festival at St Anne’s, like other Churches, is a celebration of the food grown on the land. The Harvest Festival reminds Christians of all the good things God gives them. This makes them want to share with others who are not so fortunate and during the Service gifts of packaged/tinned food were received for distribution to the disadvantaged of Soho.
The Service was followed by a roast lunch with free pizza for children!
