St. Anne's Church seeks to be a loving and accepting Christian community exploring and celebrating the presence of God. Our commitment is to be a prayerful oasis in Soho, accessible, open and engaged in the wider community
January 2006
We aim:
- to make St. Anne's a place of quiet and welcome in the middle of this unique area of London.
- to make our church services welcoming, straightforward and reflective.
- to explore our faith in Jesus Christ in the context of everyday life in Central London.
- to accept people in all our difference in this multi-ethnic, sexually diverse community of Soho, and to make St. Anne's a place where we can be ourselves and depend on one another.
- to take up the call of God in this place by welcoming each other, worshipping, and being together.
St. Anne's exists for everyone who wishes to come and be with us, whether resident of Soho or not.
We hope to be a church which is:
- PRAYERFUL - by making the church more open to the community for prayer, rest and quiet.
- NURTURING - by offering resources in spirituality and adult education, and by allowing people to say no to the demands of over-involvement.
- CREATIVE IN WORSHIP - by reviewing our main services and ensuring that they remain flexible and lively.
- COMMUNICATIVE - by advertising our services and sermons more widely, and by creating an atmosphere of good communication among the central working team of St. Anne's.
- SERVING - by being open to the needs of the whole community while concentrating particularly on children, senior citizens, homeless people, and gay and lesbian people.
